the unplanned six-day weekend
so, monday came around after a weekend where the weathermen had been telling us an arctic blast would hit monday night and we would have ice and snow allll week. the superbowl would happen on sunday in my hometown and half of america would be there too. so sure enough around midnight the rain turned into ice and AISD woke up to what was about to be 4 days off of school. the funny thing about this unplanned break is how much Arlington, Texas can’t handle four days of nothing. people didn’t have time to plan vacations for this break, many people were too iced in to go anywhere but all over facebook, were..complaints? in society today you here about how busy we all are and wish we could just relax, but when we’re given the chance we don’t want to? but i guess that just how people are these days. the perks of this week? being with my bestfriends, snow out the wazoo, bonding with my little sister, and a new-found love for grey’s anatomy. i want to be a doctor when i grow up. life’s not too shabby as long as you have what you love around you:)

getting it all together.
So I got a tumblr. I’m actually surprised I did, but I’m excited to see what all I end up doing with it. :) As many of you know it is two days before Christmas, and the 80 degree weather hasn’t helped with the mood, and as if doing show choir performances and singing about Santa Claus since August hasn’t helped me get into the Christmas-y mood already, I really think it hit me this morning. I spent the night at my friend Sydney’s house with my other friend Mariel, we had a wonderful time talking and making fun of peoples ridiculous uses of tumblr. But overall it was a great night and made me realize what wonderful friends I have. :) But the thing that really got to me was when we were driving to chick-fil-a for brunch with Sydney’s sister Courtney and listening to Christmas music, passing the unlit Christmas lights and seeing little kids in sweatshirts and running around. It really felt like Christmas was here:) If only this could happen, just like it did last year, it would make this Christmas-y feeling 100% complete. Merry Christmas everybody :)
